Magical Golden Picnic Awaits…
“If habit is considered second nature… nature should be a habit”

We had just finished our Franklin Falls hike when I realized that Gold Creek Pond – a pond that our daughter went to a few years earlier with a friend, was just around the corner. I wanted to check it out. The exit is the same as the Franklin Falls and Denny Creek trail.

Beware – GPS took us WAY out of the way around Keechelus Lake and via a dirt road! The road to Gold Pond didn’t exist on our GPS but had we just stayed on the frontage road by Franklin Falls it’s would have saved us literally 30+ minutes and my husband from killing me!

We only had a few hours before the sun began to set – but I would go back and make this an all day thing.
You can’t actually get in the water, which might be a problem on a hot day, so I recommend going when the snow is melting and it’s cooler outside.
There is a trail around the pond but with no real incline so it isn’t a hike, more like a nature walk!
This year I’m bringing my book and puppy!
